KYOCERA TASKalfa 500ci MFP series earns Pantone approval for Industry Leading Colour Imaging Capabilities
02 December 2009
KYOCERA MITA Europe B.V., one of the world's leading document solutions companies, announced today that its TASKalfa 500ci colour multifunctional product (MFP) series has been approved for PANTONE® Colour production capabilities by Pantone, the world-renowned authority on colour and provider of colour systems and leading technologies.
In order to earn Pantone approval, Pantone’s colour scientists and analysts developed expertly tuned look-up tables (LUT), specific to KYOCERA’s TASKalfa 500ci series to enable users to print the best possible simulations of PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM Colours. As the composition of the colours depends upon the printing system, the TASKalfa 500ci series was closely analyzed to meet the high standards that Pantone demands of candidates for their colour matching approval. In developing the LUT for KYOCERA, Pantone conducted rigorous testing which took into consideration the effect of the toner, print driver, resolution, and engine of the TASKalfa 500ci series on PANTONE Colour reproduction.
“The colour approval from Pantone achieves our core objective for the TASKalfa 500ci line to offer superior image quality and PANTONE Colour support for ultra-reliability and unsurpassed performance for today’s colour needs,” said Reiko Owada, Product Manager MFP of KYOCERA MITA Europe. “The industry acknowledges that the TASKalfa colour is superior and today’s Pantone approval brings that credibility to the next level. The TASKalfa 500ci series now offers organizations the peace of mind that their colour documents can be produced with accurate PANTONE Colour for consistent, quality output to support any user’s colour needs.”
Pantone is excited to bring their industry-leading colour capabilities to KYOCERA’s TASKalfa 500ci line. “In order to achieve approval from Pantone, the TASKalfa 500ci series underwent an exacting development process to ensure accurate representations of PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM Colours,” said Andy Hatkoff, vice president of OEM and Technology Licensing, Pantone. “The combination of KYOCERA’s quality engineering with Pantone’s colour leadership brings new opportunities for companies seeking the ability to create industry-leading business collateral that reflects any organization’s colour requirements for corporate identity and product branding.”
The ability to offer PANTONE Colour capabilities adds to the high existing functionality of the TASKalfa 500ci series. All the TASKalfa colour models incorporate a vibrant 8.5-inch colour touch screen control panel. With scanning speeds up 100 images per minute, an optional dual scan document processor reads double-sided pages in a single pass for maximum productivity. In addition, the TASKalfa 500ci series offers several standard scanning destinations, including Scan-to-E-mail, Scan-to-Folder (SMB), Scan-to-FTP, Scan-to-USB, WSD scanning (Windows® Vista) and TWAIN scanning, with resolutions ranging from 200-600 dpi for a fast and efficient end user experience. For efficient document output, the TASKalfa 500ci series comes with standard duplexing and can include up to a 4,100 sheet paper capacity with the ability to accommodate heavier paper stock up to 220 g/m2, all with advanced finishing and paper handling options.
