Stephan Callm crowned European KYOCERA Service Technician of the Year 2011

30 May 2011

On 20th May, 2011, the 4th European Service Award took place at the KYOCERA Branch Office in Meerbusch, Germany. This annual contest underscores the importance that KYOCERA places on service and customer satisfaction in Europe and worldwide. In addition to the European competition, further contests are also being held in North and South America and Japan, all aimed at identifying the KYOCERA top service technicians. Only the top performers go through to the final round after demanding preliminary competitions in each country.

This year’s European competition saw the nine qualifiers greeted with warm applause by KYOCERA staff as they attended a welcome dinner on the evening before the competition. The next day the hard work began as they undertook two exams at the KYOCERA Academy. The exams comprised a 1 hour, 30 question theory exam followed by a practical test on 4 different devices, each of which had three problems to solve.
All nine participants performed according to the high standards expected by KYOCERA, and it was a successful and exciting day for them as well as for the KYOCERA Team in the background.
The competition concluded with the official award ceremony, where the top technicians were announced:

* 1st place: STEPHAN CALLM of Bureau Knipper GmbH (Germany

* 2nd place: MARTIJN JANSEN of L&N Printing Solutions B.V. (Netherland)

* 3rd place: JESPER JOHANSSON of STAPLES Advantage (Sweden)

Every participant was awarded a certificate recognizing the high standard that they had achieved. The top three technicians will also take part in a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Japan and China where they will meet the winners from the U.S.A., Canada, Brasil, Argentina and Japan. The tour will begin with an official welcome ceremony at KYOCERA headquarters in Osaka and Kyoto, which will be led by senior management from the company.
