Kyocera enters home and small office market with new entry-level desktop printers

FS-1041 and FS-1061DN offer quiet mode, absolute ease of use and small footprint

01 November 2012

To meet the specific needs of home and small office environments, Kyocera Document Solutions, one of the world’s leading document solutions companies, has launched the FS-1041 and FS-1061DN entry-level monochrome desktop printers. Compact and highly economical, they are the first printers on the market with a dedicated quiet mode button and offer absolute ease of operation to non-technical users.

The control panel of the FS-1041 and FS-1061DN has just three simple buttons (Start, Stop and Quiet) for maximum ease of use. In addition, the driver’s straightforward interface gives direct access to basic settings like orientation and duplex printing. The Kyocera Client Tool, first introduced with these devices, allows users to view or change a print job’s status and check toner levels.

Because they typically operate in close proximity to office occupants, the FS-1041 and FS-1061DN are built to be discreet. They are the first and only printers on the market with a quiet mode button that allows one-touch switching between high performance and reduced noise. Compact in size to fit in the smallest office spaces, the printers have a foldable cassette that saves desk space when the unit is not in use.

The new entry-level devices come with a low purchase price, as well as the lowest cost per page in its class. The integrated Kyocera Ecosys technology features a durable print drum that can produce up to 100,000 prints. The toner can simply be replaced, eliminating the need for cartridge exchange.

“These new printers allow Kyocera to enter the market segment of home and small office environments,” says Reiko Owada, Senior Manager Product Management at Kyocera Document Solutions Europe. “The FS-1041 and FS-1061DN really lead the industry in terms of meeting customer demand for an affordable entry-level printer that is both unobtrusive and intuitive to use.”

The new printer range will be expanded with three multifunctional devices (FS-1220MFP, FS-1320MFP and FS-1325MFP) at a later date.
