Smart, simple and secure: the new Kyocera MyQ
Introducing the Kyocera MyQ flexible document output management solution
01 October 2012
With the right tools, managing data security and cost allocation across multiple print devices can be straightforward. Kyocera Document Solutions, one of the world’s leading document solutions companies, has just launched Kyocera MyQ to simplify document output management for large offices and workgroups.
“With Kyocera MyQ, customers have a competitively priced method of ensuring the security of their documents,” explains Hans Gerd Schmidt, Software Product Manager at Kyocera Document Solutions Europe B.V. “Plus, compared to other products on the market, only Kyocera MyQ includes all features as standard while still offering useful customisation possibilities. Furthermore, Kyocera MyQ currently supports over 1,050 different multi-brand printing devices – and this number keeps growing.”
Secure printing and data encryption
When dealing with sensitive information, data security is essential. Kyocera MyQ uses Print&FollowTM to protect confidential information. Users print their document as usual, but have to identify themselves at the print device in order to retrieve their print job. Print&Follow also gives users the flexibility of printing on any device connected to their server, wherever they are.
Smart printer clustering
As the expression goes, the whole is more than the sum of its parts. The same is true for the output capabilities of multiple printing devices in a printing cluster. Kyocera MyQ automatically distributes print jobs to the most appropriate devices within the print cluster, based on speed and operational capability. Failsafe capabilities ensure that if one printing device in the cluster stops running, for example due to a lack of toner or paper, the print job is redistributed over the remaining devices.
Accounting per user, cost centre and department
Allocating printing costs can be a time-consuming task. The Kyocera MyQ software can automatically allocate print costs to specific users, cost centres, departments, customers and projects. Additionally, the printing fleet can be optimised using this information, leading to further cost reductions.
