Kyoto/London – Kyocera today announced its 0.5 mm-pitch flexible printed circuit (FPC) and flat flexible cable (FFC) electronic connectors with improved quality assurance (QA) checks – both visual and automated optical inspections (AOI) – to prevent misalignment. Kyocera’s new 6892 Series connectors also feature an operating range from -40°C to +125°C and high-speed transmission making them ideal for automobile applications. KYOCERA Develops Some of World’s Smallest Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors for Mobile Devices

Kyoto/London – Kyocera Corporation (President: Hideo Tanimoto) today announced that it has developed new multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) for mobile device applications in a 008004 case size, among the world’s smallest*1. Measuring just 0.25 x 0.125 x 0.125 mm, Kyocera’s new CM01 Series MLCCs reduce space requirements by 60 % in surface area and 75 % in total volume as compared to conventional products. The new MLCCs are now available worldwide.

The crystal units, which apply plasma CVM technology, were developed by Kyocera and Dr. Kazuya Yamamura, a professor at Osaka University. The 42nd award ceremony took place on July 25, 2017.

Kyocera’s new 6810 Series flexible printed circuit (FPC) and flat-flex cable (FFC) connectors provide automatic locking upon full insertion, a key feature to support automated manufacturing and robotic assembly processes. The 6810 Series connectors also offer heat resistance up to 125°C (257°F) for automotive, industrial and consumer electronics applications.

KYOCERA Develops World’s Smallest Crystal Unit for Smartphones, Wearables

Kyoto/Neuss – Kyocera Crystal Device Corporation (herein “KCD”[1]; President: Shigeaki Kinori), a specialist in the development and manufacturing of crystal devices, today announced that it has developed the world’s smallest[2] crystal unit for smartphones, wearables, and other electronic devices. The new CX1008 quartz crystal unit measures just 1.0 x 0.8mm yet delivers the same electrical characteristics as Kyocera’s conventional CX1210 model, enabling it to be adopted without circuit board revision. Samples will be available in May 2017 with mass production slated for early 2018.
